Get Yourself Ready to Impress During a Phone Interview

Preparing for an interview over the phone is primarily a mental exercise, and something that is easy to prepare for. It is the second impression that you will make on a hiring decision maker - the first impression was obviously made for you by your resume and cover letter, and must have been positive, or you would not have this interview appointment. That being the case, it is worth while to prepare for it and be ready to put your best foot forward.

Step one in getting yourself mentally prepared is to rehearse. Practice in front of the mirror, or with a friend or your spouse listening to you, asking questions and playing the part of the interviewer. Make a list of questions you expect the interviewer to ask and have good answers prepared, but have them on the top of your head in general and not memorized. Memorized answers can sound canned and not real, and will not help you. You need to appear genuine and real.

Step two is preparing and practicing two or three ideas that you want to get across to the interviewer as to why you are the right person for this job. If you are having trouble thinking of ideas, read your resume again. Look for the key points, qualifications or accomplishments you have written, and be ready to discuss them.

Step three is to think of what you can do for the company. The hiring manager really doesn't care why you would like the job; he cares about how you can help his company if you are hired.

Step four is, on the morning of the interview get dressed. Wear the same clothes when you are on the phone that you would wear if you were in front of the interviewer in person. Dress for success and your attitude will reflect it. Dress in your pajamas or an old sweat shirt and your attitude may reflect that as well.

Step five is to smile. Smiles are contagious, even if they can't be seen. Good salesmen know this and practice smiling on the phone. There is something in your voice and attitude that is conveyed when you smile, and the person on the other end of the phone can sense it. There is truth in the old saying, "Smile and the world smiles with you." It is basic human nature.

Step six is to speak clearly and enunciate. Use a good quality phone, a land line not a cordless. If at all possible do not use a cellular phone for the interview. Crackling noises are distractions and bad cell sites, leading to dropped calls, are a negative. You only want positives during your phone interview.

Step seven is the interview itself. Relax, be yourself and do your best. When it is over remember to thank the interviewer for his or her time, and offer to provide any other information they might need to make a decision. Be professional and you may well be rewarded with a job.

Family Grocery Shopping and Saving Money - Menu Planning

Let me share with you a secret that has saved me countless hours during my week -- it's menu planning. It may sound simple, but it really works. Menu planning can also give you extra money in your pocket. I have to confess though, I haven't always been consistent with it, and so all the more reason I have something to compare it to.

The concept is quite simple really. Instead of walking aimlessly through the aisles in your local grocery store and purchasing an amazing deal of bulk dehydrated bacon on a whim -- that you never end up using anyways -- spend some time at the beginning of your week and decide what your meals are for that week. There are two known reasons that cause people to spend more money at the grocery store -- no list, and if you're hungry. So you break down and buy a king size candy bar, big deal, right? But then you forget the milk and the stick of butter. And then you get home, you've enjoyed your decadent appetizer, five o'clock rolls around and for some mysterious reason -- even though you just spent $200 -- you have nothing and no idea what to cook for dinner for your party of five.

Time-Saver

Menu planning isn't a grueling task but it does take some time -- time that is given back when you get to the store and you know exactly what you want. Here's the process in a nutshell, or at least how I do it.

  1. Make a list of all your favorite dishes.

  2. Decide on how many new dishes you want to try a week. This could vary from 0 to 7 -- depending on how big your favorite dish list is and how adventurous you are.

  3. Look through your freezer and cupboards. What ingredients or meats do you have that need to be used, or that you've forgotten about?

  4. Pick 0 to 7 of your favorite dishes, and then browse your cookbooks and pick 0 to 7 new recipes -- keeping in mind the ingredients in your freezers and cupboards that have to get used up -- so of course you have 7 total recipes for that week.

  5. Decide on the side dishes to go with the main meal. For example if we're having lasagne, I'll throw in garlic bread and a salad.

  6. Make your grocery list from your menu plan.

At this point, I do something a little extra. I write the favorite dishes down on an index card with the side dishes included. As I try new recipes, and if I like them, I do the same thing. So eventually I'll have a bunch of index cards with all my favorite meals. And then when the week is beginning, I just rotate through those cards adding a couple of new dishes as I go. You could just keep building that rotation schedule until you never have to browse a cookbook again! You could even go a step beyond that and write a grocery list for those ingredients on the backs of your index cards. Sounds a little obsessive compulsive I know, but there will be no more staring at your shelves wondering what to cook tonight.

If this sounds like too much, there are numerous menu planning books out there that do just that -- make a plan and a shopping list for you.

Money-Saver

If the saving time doesn't get you, or the abhorrence of that dreaded question what can I cook for dinner tonight? Then maybe the money-saving aspect will grab you. Just think about it -- if you have a list of dishes that you know everyone in your family loves, then you'll also know what ingredients you need. You'll then be able to keep a look-out for bulk deals on meats or canned products that you may use in those dishes. This can save you so much money in the long run! And of course we already mentioned, the risk of haphazard buying now that there's a list in your hand significantly diminishes.

This is something that you need to tailor to your family, so take some of my guides if they'll help or check out the numerous menu-planning books out there.

Diet Soup - Popular Soup Diets To Help You To Lose Weight

You've heard of the many "soup" diets which promise to help you to lose weight quickly, and you're intrigued. It sounds simple: drink soup for a few days and lose weight.

The soup diets are simple, and they certainly can help you to lose weight. However, they're not a miracle dieting solution. You can't live on soup forever. They help you to lose weight in two ways: they can kick-start your diet, and they can help you to get off a diet plateau.

Let's start by looking at a couple of recipes which I like and use myself.

The Popular Cabbage Diet Soup - Vegetables With A Dried Soup Base

This diet has as its base packet onion soup mix, or any other dry packet soup which appeals to you.

Here's how to make it. Shred one CABBAGE into a large pot. Thinly slice other vegetables you have on hand: ONION, CARROTS, GREEN BEANS, and TOMATOES and add those to the pot too. Add the dry soup mix (one packet or two) and a tin of CANNED TOMATOES. Add water. Stir, and bring to the boil; boil for five to ten minutes.

Turkey Taco Diet Soup - Hot, Spicy, And Satisfying

The base of this diet is taco seasoning mix. You can add half a pound of minced turkey or chicken if you wish. The main ingredients are three large tins of kidney beans (drained and rinsed), two large tins of diced canned tomatoes (added as-is), and a diced onion. Add everything to a large pot with a cup of water, and stir. Heat to boiling, then simmer for around 40 minutes.

Feel Full And Lose Weight - You're Never Hungry

The main benefit of the diets soups is that they fill you up for minimal calories. You can eat as much of the soups as you want for your main meal of the day; if you feel hungry between meals, have a cup of the soup. You can also take the soups to work with you.

As we've said, the soups are not a quick fix. They will help you to lose weight if you use them sensibly: to get started on a weight loss program, or to get off a diet plateau. Don't use them as a mainstay of your diet for more than five days. You can however make them up and keep them in the fridge and the freezer so that if you're very hungry you've always got a meal handy.

Enjoy your diet soups.

But I Am On The Script!

At this point, I've written a number of articles about scripting sales calls, especially over the phone.

Let's recap my main points:

(1) Scripting is inevitable. Even when we think we aren't using one, we are!

(2) Scripts need to be brought to life through special delivery techniques.

(3) Four T's inform the success of scripts: text, tone, timing & training.

(4) Theoretically, you can have more than one script working in your sales unit, providing users are committed to sticking to those they adopt.

(5) There are special ways to craft language so it sounds spontaneous and not canned.

I suggest you take a look at prior articles on this topic to get up to speed.

Here is today's point about scripting,

Reps think they're using them, word for word, when you know they aren't. You've just passed by a desk where the rep is off the mark in several places, yet he, quite sincerely, insists he's on it.

What can you do to set him straight?

The best way is to tape him and to play the tape in his presence and have the script in front of both of you.

But guess what? He still may think he's on it, word for word. Amazing, I know, but it's true.

Example: Your goal is appointment setting and the language in the script reads: "So, what we'll do is stop by to say hello on Tuesday or will Wednesday be better for you?"

The tape reveals the rep said: "So, what we could do is stop by to say hello on Tuesday or will Wednesday be better for you?"

Is there a difference? You bet!

What we "could" do and what we "will" do are dramatically different in the impact on potential customers.

Your job is to sell the rep on the necessity and desirability of doing the script, word-for-word.

When you use scripts, they need to be thoroughly enforced; otherwise, reps will think they're on them, when they aren't!

How to Talk to Girls - Get Them to Desperately Want You Through the Power of Words

If you want to be good with women - it all boils down to one thing - you must be able to develop deep rapport with them. If you're able to captivate them with your words, it doesn't matter if you're not too good looking or rich for that matter. Read on to discover how to talk to girls, and make them desperately want you.

Three Ways To Talk To Girls And Make Them Want You

Method #1. The Socrates Way. Guess what is the number one topic for virtually every human that walks on the face of the earth. THEMSELVES. Make the conversation 80% about her, and 20% about you (or less). This way, you will be able to find out more about herself, and also show her that you're deeply interested in her. These are the key components of deep rapport between a man and a woman.

Method #2. Humor. If you're able to make her laugh, you've already won half the war. The rule of thumb is this - you must be able to make her laugh within the first three minutes of conversation. When you crack the first joke and she laughs, then you're more or less sorted. Don't fret about having lots of 'canned' jokes - just make them sound natural (and befitting into the conversation) and you will do fine.

(Advanced) Method #3. Fractionation. This is the art of bringing the woman through an emotional rollercoaster, and thus making her associate herself emotionally with you. This is an advanced technique, but is deadly effective.

Fractionation is considered as a 'dark art' tactic which is the basis of hypnosis-based seduction, and while controversial, it is known to be one of the most effective tactics ever invented by underground seductionists to develop deep rapport with women.

If you are interested in learning more about fractionation to make a girl want you, it is described in a step-by-step system in the Deadly Seduction Tactics free ebook - http://www.DeadlySeduction.com

These psychology tactics are highly unconventional techniques that are used by the secret elite in the seduction community. Use at your own risk. I personally vouch for the effectiveness of these tactics, but care must be taken as they could be outright dangerous in the hands of the unscrupulous.

But if you're ready to make women want you and don't mind dabbling in the 'dark arts', then do this. Click on the following link for a proven system that will get you instant domination of any woman you meet, guaranteed, and for free: Deadly Seduction Tactics

Oxygen to Cure a Hangover

You wake up with an incredible case of cotton mouth and you are very irritable. The sun seems extremely bright and every sound seems heightened to a very uncomfortable degree. Your stomach feels quite queasy and even the thought of food could push you over the line, so that whatever is in your stomach probably won't be for long. You are shaky and limp. Your muscles seem powerless and you have a headache of mammoth proportions. You have a hangover. The newest techniques for this self-inflicted condition involve using oxygen for hangovers.

A very lucky 25% of the population will never get a hangover, despite every effort to thwart nature. For the rest of us, a hangover can be a grueling experience. A hangover happens when a person consumes more alcohol than the system can process. This causes stomach irritation, as it lingers in the bowels, and can cause vomiting and diarrhea, both of which leave the body very dehydrated. Alcohol is broken down through the liver, and a main component of this process is oxygen. During a heavy night of drinking, oxygen in the blood is diverted toward the areas that need it, and can result in a lack of oxygen in the brain. This is hypoxia, and that's the lightheadedness you feel during a hangover. It can also lead to headaches, and may hamper the brain's ability to function. Oxygen for hangovers has resulted as a new method for treating these symptoms.

Knowing this, more and more hangover sufferers are using oxygen for hangover relief to help overcome the worst symptoms. A greater flow of oxygen into the system can increase metabolism, and will help the liver process the alcohol more quickly. Oxygen helps to detoxify the bloodstream, and will work to relieve the headache, fatigue, and nausea caused by lack of oxygen.

Oxygen for hangover treatment was previously only available to those with access to the medical facilities of a hospital or to people who live near an oxygen bar. Now this oxygen therapy is available to everyone via canned oxygen. As a relief for hangovers the convenience of having oxygen on hand at home can only add to the beneficial effects claimed by its users.

Oxygen4energy.com sells 99% pure canned oxygen. Most people use canned oxygen for more energy, faster recovery time, greater mental clarity & focus, hangovers, altitude sickness, jet lag, stress.
